Handmade Books

My original art school training was in print media, typography, and assembled paper works. I have enjoyed making books on and off for three decades. Here are a few of my handmade books.

Handmade book
(stitched binding): Zihuatanejo, Mexico

Hand-stitched binding with six watercolor paper signatures. Collage with found images from the streets of Zihuatanejo glued in with archival glue, photographs stitched to page stubs, and photo-emulsion transfer. Covered matt board covers with linen spine and rag endpapers.

Handmade book
(stab-stitch spine): Morocco

Stab-stitched binding with folded newsprint pages. Collage with computer printouts and photocopies glued in with archival glue, with additional colored pencil drawings. Rice paper cover.
